Yes, Italy has gone to my head....literally. We all needed haircuts, so today, having settled for a week in the town of Balestrate, in the province of Palemro, on the island of Sicily, in the country of Italy, we all went into the nearest beauty parlour. The owner spent 20 years in New York, his son is a hair colouring technician.... "Oh, the madame must have some highlights, no? Senore, you want your wife to be beautiful, no?" There's no escape from that. And I feel beautiful, my first haircut since we left home except for a trim when Mum and I visited a salon in Seville. I can't send you a picture because I'm on a public computer....evidence of my new glamour to follow sometime. It's warm and sunny here, we are feeling like summer.
We have been in Italy for a week. On our way south we visited Pompeii and Herculenium, necessary stops for John's home school programme of "Ancient Civilizations". Pictures and details to follow when I have access with my own computer.
There are lots of stories to tell you about India. I have a backlog because of the lack of reliable internet access there.
Nelson has just arrived at the internet point, we are off to join the passegiata and have a campari and soda in the cafe beside the town square.
Hasta pronto!

Ha! There you are - in Italy. Glad to see that you survived India. Look forward to seeing pictures and more of your stories, Nancy!
